Each of these says “predictions” early and names where real scores come from, on purpose. A summary that leaves it to the end is how this gets reported as a high school betting site, which it is not and cannot become — nothing in the game accepts money, and the database refuses a currency column.

  • The schools are real. Names and classifications are public facts. Where a state association publishes its member schools and schedule openly, they are read from there and credited; elsewhere they were written down by hand.
  • Where the games come from. In states whose association publishes its schedule, the games still to come are that schedule, credited to it. Elsewhere they are generated so the model has something to predict, and a generated game is never shown as a result. The model rates teams from real results only.
  • A result is shown only where its source is named. State associations that publish their schedules openly are credited on every game they supply. Cal-Hi Sports is read under its published robots and terms policies, only the final scores, and credited and linked beside each one, across seasons back to 2013. People at a game report the score at Report a score; it shows once strangers agree and is credited “via the stands” with a count of people, never a name.
  • Nothing in the game accepts money. Units are a score with no cash value, and every feature on the site is free for everyone this season. A startup guard refuses to serve any route whose name suggests a money surface, and a syntax scan rejects payment imports.

If you are writing about this

Please say the predictions are generated by a model, and that a result is shown only where its source is named — a state association, Cal-Hi Sports, or people in the stands who agreed on it. Where no association publishes a schedule, the games still to come are generated so the model has something to predict; none of them is presented as a result. Real school names appear because they are public facts, and no school, district or association is affiliated with, endorses or is connected to the project. If you represent one and want the name removed, ask and it will be.
