Coming soon

Texas is coming to Hometown Line

You’re in the right place, and the whole site is open to you. We only show scores a state’s association lets us read and credit, and Texas’s aren’t readable yet. Here’s how Flower Mound gets on, and how to play in the meantime.

Play this Friday anyway

Every game on the board is open to you, in any state. Call the week’s biggest games, or follow a state next door.

Getting Flower Mound on the site

Texas isn’t published yet. The UIL does not publish schedules or scores itself; its scoreboard is MaxPreps, whose terms do not allow another site to reuse it.

In the meantime, a coach, athletic director or team manager can put a school’s season on the site through the Team Desk, and the letter below still asks them to publish.

Ask them

Write to University Interscholastic League or your school's athletic director. Address it to the association’s office or your athletic director — the contact page on their site has it.

Subject: Schedules and scores for Texas high-school football

Dear University Interscholastic League,

I am a fan of Flower Mound. I follow the season on Hometown Line (hometownline.com), a free game of skill and prediction for high-school football. There is no money in it: readers predict results and are scored on how well they read the games.

Texas is not on the site yet because University Interscholastic League does not publish schedules and scores of its own; they sit on a third-party scoreboard whose terms allow no reuse. I am writing to ask that University Interscholastic League publish its schedules and scores itself, or as a feed, so that any site may read and credit them. Hometown Line credits University Interscholastic League on every game.

Thank you for considering it.

Yours sincerely,
A supporter of Flower Mound

Everything above comes from Flower Mound’s own article — except the few lines that name a different one — and is real. Hometown Line also runs a scoring model over Texas high school football. Every prediction it makes is the model’s own. Where Texas publishes a schedule the site may read, the games ahead are that schedule; where it does not, the fixtures ahead are generated so the model has something to predict. A result is shown only where its source is named.
